Forms from My Sky no 15 (Of Gods as feminine): This work talks about the traditional Igbo society where worship of Gods and homage to ancestors abound. The feminine deities are revered and is believe to be ruthless on those that commit ‘nso ala’; desecration of the land like murder, incest, etc. The work captures these Gods in different forms highlighting their strength and beauty. In traditional Igbo society, it is believed that earth and the rivers is domain of this feminine Goddesses thus, we say mother earth, mother nature, river goddess etc. My purpose here is to place our traditional religion in the same platform with the western style counterpart which is prevalent with the ubiquitous Pentecostalism.

Akachukwu Chukwuemeka (Akabeks) creates visual narratives that function as intimate dialogues between memory, environment, and African literary thought, translating lived and inherited stories into layered symbolic forms. His work reclaims and elevates indigenous belief systems and identities, placing African cosmology, family structures, and feminine divinity within a contemporary visual language that challenges dominant cultural hierarchies.
